Investors | RentCan — Property Management for the Tricity

For investors & partners

Property care that shows up. Not just another app.

RentCan is building on-ground property management for landlords across Mohali, Chandigarh, Panchkula and Aerocity — monthly physical inspections, clear reporting, and an owner dashboard that makes remote ownership feel local.

The thesis

Landlords don't need more software. They need someone who shows up.

The Tricity is full of invested owners — NRIs, busy professionals, people holding flats, shops, and short-stays — who still rely on a cousin, a broker, or radio silence when something breaks.

Traditional property "management" is either a one-time brokerage fee that disappears after the tenant moves in, or a heavy percentage cut with foggy updates. RentCan takes the opposite bet: flat monthly fees, scheduled physical inspections, and a product layer that turns field work into proof.

Software is the leverage. The product is trust you can photograph.

Wedge

Residential + commercial care in one dense corridor (Mohali → Chandigarh → Panchkula → Aerocity), with Airbnb hospitality as a premium lane.

Model

Predictable subscriptions (₹1,499 / ₹1,999) instead of rent-percentage take-rates. Add-ons for extra properties and SOS visits.

Proof loop

15-point inspections, photo reports, maintenance tracking, and an owner dashboard — so "we checked" is never just a text message.

Why now

A real service business with a digital spine.

Founder note

Herman Hundal

I've spent enough time around people, properties, and operations to know the gap isn't "another marketplace." It's follow-through.

Hospitality and store ops taught me what guests and owners actually feel when something slips. Running short-stays myself made the checklist real — pricing, turnovers, cleaners, broken fixtures, and the late-night "is everything okay?" message. Studying business while building in Mohali just made the next step obvious: stop improvising property care and productize it.

Building a startup here felt like the honest option — close to the properties, close to the owners, and close enough to the problem that you can't hide behind a deck.

RentCan is that bet: field reps on the ground, a calm dashboard for owners, and a company that earns the month every month. If you're an investor who likes boringly important service businesses with a sharp local wedge, I'd love to talk.

What we're building toward

Dense corridor first. Then expand the map.

Phase one is unglamorous on purpose: nail inspections, reporting, and owner trust in one high-density geography. Phase two layers payments, stronger vendor networks, and multi-property portfolios. Phase three is the playbook — repeatable ops in the next ring of cities without diluting the "someone actually went."

We're not pitching vaporware inspections. The site, plans, and onboarding path are live; online payments open with the October launch. Until then, every serious conversation starts on WhatsApp.
